Member Benefits & Advantages

N-e-t-w-o-r-k-i-n-g!!! - AmCham Members are "in the loop" of the foremost business circles in the Philippines. For the common interests of business executives, AmCham has successfully established a network of networks: joining with the different foreign chambers, the Employers Confederation of the Philipppines (ECOP), Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI), Philippine Association of Multinational Regional Headquarters (PAMURI), Makati Business Club (MBC), Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX), and other industry - group-focused trade and business organizations. You are also able to attend as a Member, a wide range of exclusive forums, seminars, tutorials and business luncheons. These events are regularly attended, and even arranged, by outstanding members of the local business community, the captains of industry.

Among regularly planned AmCham gatherings are:

(1) Ambassador's Forum - periodic cocktails with the US Ambassador to the Philippines; an interactive forum where the Ambassador is advised of the concerns and problems faced by the business community while he shares his own perceptions of the current political and economic conditions.

(2) Monthly General Membership Meetings - the best opportunity in Manila to meet customers, competitors, advisers and leaders from a broad cross-section of industries and nationalities. Plus hear vital information shared by prominent guest speakers selected for the knowledge of the public, private and government sectors.

(3) Breakfast Briefing - your visiting company executives might be very pleased to have, at a nominal cost, a special breakfast briefing with our Board of Directors and selected, well informed Members. Discussions center on subjects of your choosing or the Philippine economy plus business forecasts.

(4) Kapihan sa AmCham - free flowing exchanges "over a cup of coffee" where guest speakers are invited to clarify/elaborate business and community issues of interest. Held every Friday, 7:30 a.m., at Elk's Club, Corinthian Plaza in Makati.

(5) AmCham Orientation/Briefing to New Prospective Members.

...and then there are the social activities:

* Pub Nites are monthly informal early evening gatherings. Members getting to know other members better, do some business, exchange some ideas, with no agenda and no pressure;

*Fellowship Cocktails Parties are held twice a year, usually in a more fancy setting then the Pub Nites, but still putting relaxed...

NOTE: Spouse/"significant others" are always welcome.

Insightful Business Publications - a free subscription to the AmCham Business Journal, a monthly magazine that reports on the current business climate and tackles pertinent business issues, and the AmCham Bulletin, an exclusive-to-members fortnightly newsletter featuring government policies, trade/employment opportunities and other useful information.

The AmCham offices in Makati include an updated Research Library that offer assistance in trade and other business-related information needs of members and the general public. Open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

AmCham members also have access to an excellent Meeting Facility - a conference room which can accommodate 60-80 people is available for members' use at a reasonable cost. This can be availed of by members only, subject to prior arrangements.
