Assistant Secretary Corazon C. Davis
Assistant Secretary for Policy and Planning,
Department of Environment and Natural Resources
Corazon C. Davis counts among the steadfast and hardworking public servants in the country having devoted more than 35 years of her career in the government service. She served as the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Finance in the Department of Environment and
Natural Resources (DENR) for seven years until her recent appointment as Assistant Secretary for Policy and Planning in the same department.
Her years of hands-on experience in the field and in management together with the various local and international training she attended further contributed to her expertise on the protection, conservation and management of the country’s natural resources and the promotion of a healthy
and clean environment.
Owing to her unparalleled professionalism and dedication to her work, Davis received theGAWAD CES (Career Executive Service) Award in 2009, a presidential award for promoting urban biodiversity within Metro Manila and a prime mover of providing land tenure for informal settlers in National Capital Region (NCR). Prior to this accomplishment, she was awarded Outstanding Regional Executive Director of the DENR in 1999.
In 2014, she received the Dangal ng Pasig Award for Environmental Protection, IndividualCategory; a biennial award given by the City of Pasig.
Davis graduated from the University of the Philippines in Los Baños with a degree of B.S. Zoology and earned a Diploma on Environmental Science and Technology in the International Institute of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering from Delft, The Netherlands. She hails from Cebu City and the mother to three equally-accomplished young men, Jeremy, a chemical engineer; Jonathan, a nurse; and Herbert, a lawyer. She was married to the late Edilberto A. Davis the former Deputy Judicial Reform Program Administrator, Supreme Court of the Philippines.
